No luck yet with the panties, although i have been trying. i was Christmas shopping yesterday with my wife and was looking as often as i could at the women's panties. i would try and wait for her in places where i can look at them, or walk through the section looking.
And today i went to two shops and looked by myself. i have found no holiday-themed panties yet. i haven't specifically asked anyone for them, but am pretty sure i looked thoroughly in both shops.
i shall keep trying and will look at more shops tomorrow.

Well, i've done it! Bought my first pair of panties!
As i mentioned, i looked over the weekend with no success. Your email yesterday allowing me to buy festive red panties was very welcome, so today i went and did that.

i went into the shop and quickly walked through to the lingerie section. i saw the pair i wanted and walked to look closer, briefly touching. my heart was beating, but in a sense i was on autopilot. there was no one at the counter, so i didn't get them then, but walked over the men's underwear section. i selected a pair of men's boxers and then went back to the women's section and got the pair of red panties.
At the counter the woman there asked if there was anything more she could help me with. i blurted out something along the lines that i was buying both pairs as a joke Christmas gift, which she laughed at.
i have just briefly tried them on and they fit, very snugly :)
